The WSM Pride LGBTQ Equality Champion Awards recognises any LGBT person or Ally who has made a significant contribution to advancing equality in their workplace, Educational organisation or community. Nominees have shown a unique commitment to LGBT rights and have used their talents to further that cause, even at some risk. Our 5 WSM Pride LGBTQ equality Champions were recognised at our first award show at the Grand Pier on Friday 28th June, a sell out event!

The WSM Pride Education Champion Award recognises any LGBTQ person or Ally who has made a significant contribution to advancing equality within an educational environment.

The WSM Pride Youth Champion Award recognises any LGBTQ person or Ally under 18 years of age who has made a significant contribution to advancing equality.

  • WSM Pride LGBTQ Equality Individual Award

The WSM Pride Organisation Champion Award recognises any LGBTQ or Ally organisation/ Business that has made a significant contribution to advancing equality within their local community or Nationally.

TIMELINE

  • ​Monday 1st April   Nominations open! Nominate worthy candidates for these awards

  • Sunday 19th May   Candidates will be shortlisted for each category then voting opens for the winner!

  • June 2019 - A winner from each category will be selected by panel made up from WSM Pride organisers and the Weston Mercury Newspaper and announced at the first award show at the Grand Pier on Friday 28th June!
